Comments:
The spindle cell elements in metaplastic breast carcinomas infiltrate in between non-neoplastic ducts and lobules, especially at the tumor periphery. In contrast, sarcomas of extramammary origin that metastasize to the breast destroy the native breast architecture instead of entrapping epithelial elements.
