Comments:
There is a dense lymphoid infiltrate in the submucosa and extending in some areas into the mucosa. There is destruction of native architecture with loss of oxyntic glands. The mucosa immediately overlying the tumor is largely intact. The presence of prominent lymphoid follicles initially led to the mistaken diagnosis of gastric pseudolymphoma in this case.
