Lymphangioma of Mesentery

Intra-abdominal lymphangiomas are rare. Most become symptomatic much later in life, although they may be present in childhood. Mesenteric involvement (shown here) is the most common location, followed by omentum, mesocolon, and retroperitoneum. The clinical picture is often complicated by the development of acute abdomen secondary to intestinal obstruction and/or infarction.
