Comments:
Gross Pathology: Cutaneous angiosarcomas are poorly-circumscribed, hemorrhagic, sponge-like or microcystic lesions. The overlying epidermis sometimes shows verrucous hyperplasia. The tumors extensively involve the dermis and may frequently invade the subcutis and fascia. The image shows a resection specimen of angiosarcoma of scalp from a 60 y/o male. There is a solid tumor in the dermis and subcutis with cystic necrosis. Image copyright: pathorama.ch
