Synovial Sarcoma : Case History

Comments:
Synovial sarcoma within vastus intermedius muscle in the lower extremity of a 42 y/o female. The tumor is well circumscribed and has yellow-grey cut surface with areas of hemorrhage. The tumor is surrounded by skeletal muscle. Microscopic evaluation showed biphasic synovial sarcoma. The tumor cells were positive for cytokeratin, EMA, bcl-2 and CD99. They were negative for CD34.
