Different morphologic patterns can be encountered in pleomorphic adenomas. This image shows epithelial elements arranged in anastomosing cords in a background of myxoid stroma. Some of the unusual features that may be occasionally seen in pleomorphic adenoma include - high cellularity, occasional bizarre cells with hyperchromatic nuclei, focal capsular penetration and presence of tumor cell clusters in vascular spaces.
