Follicular Carcinoma

Comments:
A subtotal thyroidectomy specimen consisting of the left lobe and the isthmus from a 51 y/o male who presented with a slow growing left thyroid mass. The left lobe of the thyroid is completely replaced by an 11 cm greyish-white tumor with areas of hemorrhage and necrosis. Microscopically, it was follicular carcinoma of thyroid.
