Comments:
Skeletal involvement occurs both in primary and secondary hyperparathyroidism. The image shows a zone of bone resorption in the center. The resulting defect has been filled with fibroblastic tissue. Around the periphery is an osteoid-producing area with an appearance reminiscent of fibrous dysplasia.
