Radiation Changes : Benign Prostate

Higher magnification of a post-brachytherapy prostate biopsy showing marked cytologic atypia. The nuclei are irregularly enlarged and show scattered prominent nucleoli. This degree of cytologic atypia would be highly unusual for adenocarcinoma and when present would be more uniform throughout the malignant glands.
