Comments:
Pleomorphic adenomas make up 70% to 80% of benign salivary gland tumors. They are especially common in the Parotid gland. Most patients are middle-aged and present with a smooth, painless enlarging mass in the neck.

This MRI scan (Axial T1 with contrast) is from a 40 y/o male with painless swelling of his neck. It shows a homogenous right parotid mass with contrast enhancement. The diagnosis of pleomorphic adenoma was confirmed by fine needle aspiration cytology. Case courtesy of Dr Prashant Gupta , Radiopaedia.org. From the case rID: 17128
