Comments:
Treatment of Coccidioidomycosis: The immunocompetent individuals usually recover eventually with or without treatment. The antifungal treatment is generally reserved for those with severe disease or persistent symptoms or immunocompromised states. Commonly used antifungals include azole compounds like ketoconazole, miconazole, clotrimazole, itraconazole, and fluconazole. For severe infections in immunocompromised states, amphotericin B may be required. Infection provides lasting immunity. There is currently no vaccine available.
