Hirschsprung Disease : Barium enema

Comments:
Post evacuation barium enema film demonstrates the transition point between sigmoid and descending colon more obviously. The denervated segment (rectum and distal sigmoid colon in this case) appears narrowed as a result of spasm. The appearance is typical of short segment Hirschsprung disease.
