Gastric MALT Lymphoma - Immunohistochemistry: As discussed previously, MALT lymphomas are: CD20+, CD79a+, BCL2+, CD5-, CD10-, cyclin D1-, CD23-, and CD43+/-. This profile can distinguish them from chronic lymphocytic leukemia/small lymphocytic lymphoma (CD5+), follicular lymphoma (CD10+), and mantle cell lymphoma (cyclin D1/BCL1+).

Aberrant co-expression of CD43 (normally seen on T-cells) in CD20+ B-cells is indication of a neoplastic phenotype in MALT lymphomas.
