Pineal parenchymal tumors show immunoreactivity for a variety of neuroendocrine markers such as neurofilament, synaptophysin, neuron-specific enolase, chromogranin (shown here), and CD56. The immunoreactivity in pineoblastomas is variable, heterogenous, and may even be absent.
