Higher magnification showing squamous differentiation in a high-grade urothelial carcinoma. Despite the lack of any clinical significance, squamous differentiation in urothelial carcinoma should be mentioned in the pathology report. If the tumor metastasizes, it would be helpful to know if the primary had any unusual morphologic features, such as divergent squamous or glandular differentiation.
