Mucinous Cyst

Comments:
Mucinous cysts usually arise from the minor vestibular glands and present as solitary, subcutaneous mass in the vulvar vestibule in women of reproductive age. They are usually small and can be painful. This image of a mucinous cyst is filled with thick mucoid material. The inner wall is smooth (see next image) and is lined by a single layer of columnar mucinous epithelium. Foci lined by ciliated non-mucinous columnar epithelium and squamous metaplasia may also be present.
