Comments:
Introduction: Cardiac fibroma is a benign fibroblastic/myofibroblastic tumor that is similar to soft tissue fibromas. It occurs at all ages, although it is more frequent in childhood (2nd most common primary cardiac tumor in children after rhabdomyoma). One-third of cases occur below the age of 1 year. Many are diagnosed in utero. There is slight male predominance. There is an association with Gorlin-Goltz syndrome (aka basal cell nevus syndrome).
