Cavernous Hemangioma

Cavernous hemangiomas are less common than capillary hemangiomas but involve similar age group (infancy and childhood) and locations (upper body). They are usually larger than capillary hemangiomas, less well-circumscribed, and usually require surgical treatment due to pressure effect on deeper structures. They contain large, dilated vessels lined by flattened endothelium. The vessels may be engorged with blood.
