Differential Diagnosis of Undifferentiated Pleomorphic Sarcoma (UPS):

Sarcomatoid Carcinoma: The differential diagnosis of UPS includes sarcomatoid carcinoma, especially when the tumor occurs in the vicinity of epithelial structures or the patient has a history of carcinoma. Some cases of UPS may show focal, patchy expression of keratin; however, strong, diffuse immunoreactivity for pankeratins favors sarcomatoid carcinoma and excludes UPS.
