Comments:
Prognosis: Undifferentiated pleomorphic sarcoma is an aggressive, high-grade tumor. The reported local recurrence rates range from 19% to 31%, metastatic rates are 31% to 35%, and 5-yr survival rates are 65% to 70%. Favorable prognostic factors include age below 60 yrs, tumor < 10 cm, superficial location, low-grade, negative resection margins, no metastases, non-radiation associated tumors, and myxoid subtype.

In case of local recurrences and distant metastases, they appear within 1 to 2 yrs. after diagnosis. The most common sites of distant metastasis are lungs (90%), bone (8%), and liver (1%). Metastases to regional lymph nodes are rare.
