This image from a giant cell tumor shows aggregates of foam cells and a spindle cell proliferation. The typical areas of giant cell tumor may sometimes be inconspicuous. Such cases may be misdiagnosed as fibrous histiocytomas. The location of the tumor and its radiographic appearance will be helpful clues to the correct diagnosis.
