Comments:
The stroma contains scattered myofibroblasts and may have hemosiderin-laden macrophages, indicative of hemorrhage. The stroma (ER, PR and calretinin negative) is an important feature in distinguishing microcystic adeneoma from mucinous cystic neoplasm (ovarian stroma with mucinous lining).
