Comments:
Prognosis: Intracholecystic papillary-tubular neoplasms (ICPNs) that are < 1 cm in size are clinically insignificant (the so-called incipient ICPN). Invasive carcinoma is seen in about 65% of ICPNs ≥ 1 cm with prominent papillary architecture. Biliary and gastric foveolar type epithelium show greater association with invasive CA (60-70% cases) than pyloric gland phenotype (15%). Overall, about 6% of gallbladder carcinomas arise in the setting of ICPNs. (continued in the next image)
