Comments:
Intracholecystic Papillary-Tubular Neoplasm (ICPN) with Invasive Carcinoma: It is important to rule out invasive carcinoma in a patient with ICPN of the gallbladder. Invasive carcinoma is seen in about 65% of ICPNs ≥ 1 cm with prominent papillary architecture. Biliary and gastric foveolar type epithelium show greater association with invasive CA (60-70% cases) than pyloric gland phenotype (15%). The invasive component is usually tubule forming pancreato-biliary type adenocarcinoma. Less commonly, it has mucinous (colloid), adenosquamous or neuroendocrine phenotype.
