Gallbladder ICPN : Introduction

Introduction: Intracholecystic papillary-tubular neoplasm (ICPN) is a macroscopic, non-invasive, papillary or polypoid epithelial tumor growing into the lumen of the gallbladder. It is the most common preinvasive, mass-forming neoplasm of the gallbladder. It is considered premalignant and carries the risk of developing invasive carcinoma. The degree of risk varies with different subtypes of ICPN. About 6% of invasive gallbladder carcinomas occur in the setting of ICPN.
