Comments:
The image shows normal-appearing hepatocytes with abundant eosinophilic cytoplasm. The tumor cells in LCA are about the size of normal hepatocytes, with normal nuclear:cytoplasmic ratios and occasional multinucleation, focal atypia, and nuclear pleomorphism. The cytoplasm is eosinophilic or clear with variable lipid, bile, or lipofuscin; PAS-D+ globules, giant mitochondria, and Mallory bodies are occasionally seen. Mitotic figures are very rare. Kupffer cells are inconspicuous.
