Comments:
The lymphoid follicles in lymphomatoid polyposis can efface the normal mucosal architecture, though the surface epithelium is spared. The lymphocytes are small with irregular nuclei. Ancillary studies such as immunohistochemistry, flow cytometry, and cytogenetics can confirm that the process is malignant.
