Comments:
Occasional mitotic figures are observed in this gastric neuroendocrine carcinoma. Prominent nucleoli are seen as well, dominating over the typical salt-and-pepper chromatin. While immunohistochemistry would confirm neuroendocrine origin, Ki67 proliferation rate should be higher than in carcinoid tumors.
