Comments:
Majority of the carcinomas arising in the setting of Barrett esophagus are adenocarcinomas which resemble their gastric counterparts. However, unusual tumors may be seen in rare cases. This is an example of choriocarcinoma complicating Barrett esophagus. The submucosa shows a hemorrhagic and extensively necrotic tumor.
