Squamous Cell Carcinoma of Esophagus

Comments:
This is an autopsy specimen showing a well-delineated tumor in the lower half of the esophagus. This demarcation can be deceiving, however, as intraepithelial spread may not be grossly evident. This can lead to positive margins on frozen or permanent sections.
