Comments:
Gross Pathology: Pleomorphic liposarcomas may be well-demarcated, multinodular tumors or ill-defined and infiltrative. They tend to be large with a median size of 8-10 cm. The cut surface is tan white to yellow. Areas of myxoid change, hemorrhage and necrosis are frequent. The photograph shows a 12 cm pleomorphic liposarcoma that arose in the retroperitoneum. The cut surface shows a large area of hemorrhage and necrosis. Image courtesy of: Dr. Ibrahim Zardawi; used with permission.
