Comments:
Molecular Pathogenesis: Pleomorphic liposarcomas (PLS) have complex structural genetic rearrangements with a number of chromosomal gains and losses. So far, no pathognomonic, consistent cytogenetic or molecular alterations have been identified. Pleomorphic liposarcomas also lack 12q14-15 amplification (unlike well-differentiated liposarcomas and dedifferentiated liposarcomas). The molecular profile of PLS more closely resembles that of other pleomorphic sarcomas than the liposarcomas.
