Comments:
Gross Pathology: Myxoid liposarcomas (LPS) are large (usually > 10 cm), well-circumscribed, multinodular tumors, usually located within skeletal muscles of the lower extremity. The cut surface has smooth, gelatinous or mucoid appearance. Tumors with higher grade areas (round cell component) have firm, tan-white nodules within myxoid areas. Pure high-grade tumors (previously referred to as round cell liposarcomas) are firm, fleshy and tan-white, like other high-grade sarcomas. Areas of hemorrhage and necrosis are not common.
