Myxoid Liposarcoma : Differential

Comments:
The differential diagnosis of myxoid liposarcoma (LPS) includes many lesions containing myxoid matrix.

Myxofibrosarcoma: This tumor has greater degree of cytologic atypia and pleomorphism. The vasculature is coarse in contrast to the delicate plexiform capillary network of myxoid LPS. Some of the pleomorphic cells of myxofibrosarcoma may contain hyaluronic acid-filled vacuoles that may be mistaken for lipoblasts.
