Myxoid Liposarcoma : Microscopic

Comments:
Microscopic Features: The spindle/fusiform/stellate tumor cells in myxoid liposarcoma lack cytologic atypia and show no mitotic activity. If there is considerable atypia, entertain the possibility of myxofibrosarcoma. Uncommon findings include extramedullary hematopoiesis and areas of metaplastic cartilage, bone, or smooth muscle. These findings have no impact on the prognosis.
