Adenosquamous Carcinoma of Gallbladder
Comments:
Adenosquamous Carcinoma of Gallbladder: This is another example of adenosquamous carcinoma of gallbladder. The glandular component is on the left and it had areas reminiscent of intracholecystic papillary-tubular neoplasm. The squamous component is invasive and seen on the right and bottom on the image. Some squamous cell carcinomas of gallbladder have a predominant spindle cell pattern and may be mistaken for high-grade sarcomas. Immunostains may be unhelpful in separating them due to overlapping features. Squamous cell carcinomas of gallbladder usually present at higher stage and have worse prognosis than conventional adenocarcinomas.
