Comments:
Microscopic Features: Microscopically, neural fibrolipoma shows overgrowth of epineurial fibrofatty tissue which infiltrates and surrounds the nerve trunk. The nerves bundles are separated by the infiltrating fat. Perineurium shows concentric thickening, sometimes with pseudo-onion bulb-like change, mimicking intraneural perineurioma. There may be moderate to severe loss of nerve fibers. Some cases show osseous metaplasia.
