Comments:
A high-power view showing a pair of ganglion cells surrounded by Schwann cells. Ganglioneuromas pursue a benign course. However, they can grow extremely large and have a tendency to encase vessels. Rare cases may undergo sarcomatous transformation to a malignant peripheral nerve sheath tumor. In addition, there are case reports of composite tumors of pheochromocytoma and ganglioneuroma.
