Comments:
In follicular lymphoma (FL), the lymph nodes are generally enlarged with complete effacement of the nodal architecture by the neoplastic follicles. The follicles are uniform in size, closely packed, lack a mantle zone, and do not contain tingible body macrophages. In some cases, the follicles may show considerable variation in size and shape as seen in this image. The follicles are evenly distributed throughout the lymph nodes with obliteration of the sinuses and may even extend outside the capsule.
