Image Description
Meningiomas are one of the commonest tumor types arising within the central nervous system and make up approximately 30% of primary intracranial tumors. "Meningothelial" or "syncytial" meningioma is one of the most common histologic subtypes of meningioma. It is a WHO grade I tumor. At this low power view, spindly-looking cells with pink cytoplasm run in short fascicles, forming syncytial structures and whorls, better appreciated at the center of the photomicrograph. The cells may be arranged in lobules separated by fibrovascular septa.
