Image Description
Inflammatory fibroid polyps are mesenchymal polyps that can occur anywhere in the gastrointestinal tract, with the stomach being a common location. In stomach, they are often located in the antrum and are frequently associated with hypochlorhydria or achlorhydria. They are composed of bland mesenchymal cells with interspersed chronic inflammatory cells and blood vessels. The mesenchymal cells sometimes aggregate around the vessels concentrically (top middle).
