Image Description

Treatment of Liver Hemangiomas: Asymptomatic patients with incidentally found hemangiomas require no treatment. This represents the majority of cases. They are safely managed by surveillance imaging, the frequency of which depends upon the hemangioma size. If the lesion remains stable (i.e. no growth) over 6-12 months, no further imaging is necessary.

This image shows thrombus within vascular channels of a liver hemangioma. (treatment continues in the next image)
