Comments:
Microscopic Features: The spindle cell component of a spindle cell/pleomorphic lipoma consists of uniform, bland spindle cells arranged in short, irregular fascicles. They have elongated hyperchromatic nuclei with tapered ends and inconspicuous nucleoli. Mast cells are commonly found in the background collagenous stroma. Several mast cells are seen in this image. Mitotic activity is not increased. Necrosis is absent.
