Comments:
The thick-walled non-budding spherules can be better appreciated here. Some of the spherules have ruptured releasing their endospores. About 1% of patients, especially those with compromised immunity, may develop disseminated coccidioidomycosis involving lungs, meninges, bones, lymph nodes, spleen and liver.
