Comments:
This lesion is from the mandible of a 65 y/o male. Plain films showed a multiloculated lesion. Ameloblastoma is derived from the ameloblasts the epithelium that produces the crown of the tooth. Most cases occur between 3rd and 5th decades of life and involve the mandible. It is a locally aggressive tumor with tendency to recurrence. Low-power view shows proliferation of epithelial strands and sheets in a fibrous stroma.
