Follicular Adenoma

Comments:
This is a partial thyroidectomy specimen from a 28 y/o euthyroid patient. The cut surface shows a well-circumscribed, tan to light brown lesion with fibrous capsule. Areas of hemorrhagic, cystic change and scarring are present. These secondary changes in follicular adenoma of thyroid are encountered in long standing cases.
