Hepatocellular Carcinoma

HCCs may be well-circumscribed and bile-stained (as seen here). Note the marked pallor of the non-neoplastic liver, which is more common in patients with HCC. Late complications of large HCCs include rupture with hemorrhage or metastasis, most often to the abdominal cavity or lungs. Rarely, HCC may regress spontaneously. Image copyright: Pathorama.ch
