Comments:
p63 belongs to the p53 gene family and its expression in prostate is limited to the basal cell nuclei. A combination of high molecular weight cytokeratin (a prostatic basal cell marker expressed in the cytoplasm) and p63 (expressed in the nuclei) stains the entire basal cell giving a superior and more intense staining with fewer false-positives and false-negatives.
