Gross Pathology: Proliferative fasciitis appears as a poorly-circumscribed, gray-white mass that extends along the fascial planes in the subcutaneous tissue. Rare cases are centered in the dermis or extend into the skeletal muscle (resembling proliferative myositis). Childhood cases are more circumscribed and have a lobular growth pattern.
