Comments:
Rete testis showing pagetoid spread of germ cell neoplasia in situ (GCNIS) from nearby tubules. The invasive component in this case was a seminoma. In one study, pagetoid spread of GCNIS to rete testis was seen in 28% of seminomas and in 49% of non-seminomatous germ cell tumors (Perry A, Wiley EL, Albores-Saavedra J. Hum Pathol. 1994 Nov; 25(11):1256-7.) Another study reported this phenomenon in 14 of 47 cases (29.7%) of germ cell tumors. Lee AH, Theaker JM. Histopathology. 1995 Oct; 27(4):391-2.
